Sluice for agents

An agent gets a Sluice key from a person, who sets its spending limits in the dashboard. The key works on the OpenAI-compatible endpoint and on the MCP server. Machine-readable summary: /llms.txt.

When a request is refused

Status and code	What to do
429 spending_limit_reached	Stop. Ask the key's owner to raise the limit, or wait for the day or month to reset (UTC).
429 rate_limited	Wait for Retry-After seconds, then retry.
402 balance_too_low	The owner's Orbio balance is empty. Tell the owner.
401 invalid_api_key	The key is missing or revoked. Ask for a new one.
409 incognito_on	The owner's Orbio account needs private inference, which Sluice does not support yet.
